In summer 2024, I collaborated on Blood & Breath, an immersive art installation held in Vatican City, Rome. Under the creative direction of Honora Foa, I contributed to the visual narrative of the project—part of an award-winning cycle of experimental films. My work spanned video projection design, book creation, and website development, each piece enhancing the project’s atmospheric storytelling.
One of the highlights was being flown to Rome to meet with the rest of the team and map my visuals onto the walls of a Vatican church, blending light, architecture, and narrative. This project pushed my technical skills in tools like Resolume, InDesign, After Effects, and Illustrator, resulting in a seamless fusion of digital art and physical space.
BLOOD & BREATH PROGRAM
This bilingual event program was designed in both Italian and English, presented as a set of two trifold pamphlets. One serves as the enclosure, establishing the event’s identity and setting the tone, while the second provides essential details, including the event schedule, cast information, and song lyrics. The design balances functionality and elegance, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees while reflecting the artistic essence of the event.
Projected visuals
I created a total of 14 videos, which I controlled live using Resolume, synchronizing visuals with audio cues from the orchestra and singers. Each video was designed to visually reinforce—rather than directly depict—the themes conveyed through the performance. Below are still images from these videos: the first explores love and the celestial path of Venus around the sun, while the bottom ones present abstract visuals representing the creation of the universe.
